Shoe Care
Tips for taking care of shoes:
Airing: leaving them to air for a while before storing them in the shoe rack is a good practice.
Clean superficially: by brushing or wiping your shoes, you will prevent dirt and even bacteria from accumulating. With a small brush, clean the dirt accumulated on the soles and, with a sponge or cloth, clean the uppers.
Use absorbent paper: Store your shoes with a sheet of newspaper or absorbent paper inside overnight to eliminate bad smells and humidity.
Wash with bicarbonate: at least once a month, it is advisable to wash your shoes with bicarbonate of soda or alcohol. Also use deodorants and shoe polishes frequently. This will help keep unpleasant odors at bay.
How to clean leather shoes
- Use a soft-bristled brush or a damp cloth to remove dirt from your shoes, taking care not to scratch the leather
- Leave your shoes to dry naturally, if you have moistened them.
- Once dry, moisturize the leather of your shoes well. This will keep them soft and prevent them from cracking. Choose a colorless, neutral cream without chemicals or dyes. Apply the moisturizer with a sponge or cloth and let the shoe leather absorb it.
- Rub your shoes with a cotton cloth or brush to polish them so they shine.
- Repeat this process twice a month.
How to clean suede shoes
- Avoid using water, opting instead for a specific brush for suede shoes.
- Gently brush the shoe to remove dust and dry dirt, always brushing in the same direction.
- If there are scratches that won't come out with this brushing, try gently scraping the affected area with a knife to lift the fibers of the material.
- If your shoes have stubborn stains, use an eraser to erase them. Try rubbing an eraser, pressing gently on the affected area and increasing the force as necessary.
- Finally, spray the suede with a protective spray to prolong its good looks.
